Defense Body Armor – What to Look For in a Body Armor
When I heard that the US Army is going to be installing defense body armor on all of their soldiers who deploy back into harm’s way, I was not too pleased. After all, we have the most modern military equipment available and it makes sense to protect our troops from battlefield injuries. However, in all my years of service in the defense industry, I did not see anything that would make me go buy Defense Body Armor.
The fact is that while soldiers in the military
are given MLE armor vests when they are issued them, many of the world’s soldiers don’t have them. The reason for this is that there is a ban on armor plates in military zones and the only test that is approved for combat is the body armor vest. This means that if you want to wear body armor when you are shopping for a vest, you can’t get one made with a plate. In the world of international travel, this could have a serious impact on you. If you are planning a trip to a foreign land where you may have to defend yourself, you are going to want to make sure that you are prepared to do so.
Of course, you don’t need to be overseas
to have the protection that defense body armor offers. If you are going to a gym, even though you know that you should not wear a self-defense vest, you may be tempted to buy one anyway. If you do, keep in mind what your goals are for the day. If you want to hit the weights and build up your muscles, then wearing a vest won’t be a problem; if you just want to build up your cardio, then a defense body armor is definitely the way to go.
When you are shopping for body armor
be sure to look for the highest quality of armor that you can afford. There is no reason for you to sacrifice quality for the price. As long as you can afford it, then go ahead and buy it. This will ensure that it will hold up against whatever it is you are going to be doing when you are not wearing it. However, if you buy body armor that is too cheap, then you are not going to be able to feel any better about wearing it.
Another factor that should be considered is fit
Remember, not all defense body armor is going to be built with the same comfort and fit capabilities. Some are thicker than others, and some are much more breathable. Know what you are looking for before you buy it. You do not want to feel uncomfortable while you are training or otherwise working out, but you also do not want to be stuck with an armor that does not suit you.
Finally, you need to consider the location
that you will be wearing the body armor. The defense body armor that you choose should fit comfortably and securely over your skin. It needs to move well and move properly so that you do not have to worry about it falling off or irritating you or other people. If you buy a product that is too thick, then it will not be as effective as it needs to be. You also do not want to buy body armor that is too small, because it will not protect you as well as you need it to.
